Global semiconductor sales rise 22.7% year-on-year in April to $57 billion

“The global semiconductor industry posted solid year-on-year growth in April, and month-on-month sales increased for the first time this year, driven by strong demand in the Americas and Asia-Pacific,” said John Neuffer, President and CEO of SIA. “New forecasts from WSTS project sustained growth for 2025, supported by continued momentum in AI, cloud infrastructure, and advanced consumer electronics.”

Regionally, year-on-year sales growth in April was strongest in the Americas (44.4%), followed by Asia Pacific excluding China and Japan (23.1%), China (14.4%), Japan (4.3%), and Europe (0.1%). Month-on-month, sales rose in China (5.5%), Asia Pacific (5.3%), and Europe (0.5%), while declining slightly in Japan (-0.6%) and the Americas (-1.1%).

SIA also highlighted the latest forecast from the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS) organization, which projects global chip sales to grow 11.2% in 2025, reaching $700.9 billion. Sales are expected to rise further to $760.7 billion in 2026.
