Arrow, Avnet and RS join ECIA

     According to reports, Arrow Electronics, Avnet Corporation and RS Group dissolved GEDA and recently rejoined the ECIA association.

ECIA was formed in 2010 from the merger of two industry groups: the National Electronics Distributors Association (NEDA) and the Electronic Components Association (ECA). NEDA was founded in 1939 and consists of distributors; ECA stands for component manufacturers. Arrow, Avnet and RS have been NEDA/ECIA members for decades until 2019.

Arrow, Avnet Inc. and RS Group withdrew from ECIA in 2019 and formed the Global Electronics Distributors Association (GEDA). GEDA was intended to be a more distributor-centric organization than ECIA which has many supplier members. However, According to opencorporates, GEDA filed for dissolution of a non-profit corporation in August 2023.

Arrow Electronics has invaluable expertise and influence, and we look forward to integrating their team into our councils and committees.”
